11Kits Coach Guide: Match Tracking Detail & Staff Roles

Match your sideline volunteer help to the exact level of tactical detail your team needs.

Every matchday is different. Some weekends you have parent/guardian volunteers ready to track every pass; other weekends you are managing substitutions and the game clock entirely on your own. 11Kits provides three match tracking detail levels so you can capture valuable game events without overwhelming your sideline helpers.

1. Choosing Your Match Tracking Detail Level

Before kickoff, select your tracking mode on the Match Prep screen. This controls how the live field screen behaves during play:

Detail Level Best For Sideline Staffing How You Log On Field
Tap-Only
("OFF")
Recreational teams, solo coaches, or single parent/guardian helpers. 1 person handles clock, goals, fouls, and basic set-pieces. Simple point taps on the pitch. No arrow drawing required. Remote parents/guardians receive instant score and set-piece updates on their live feed.
Pass Arrows
("SIMPLE")
Competitive teams wanting team passing totals without tracking individual jersey numbers. 1 dedicated tracker, or shared between two helpers. Drag an arrow from where the ball was kicked to where it landed. Instantly captures team pass completion, build-up zones, and attacks into the box.
Player-Attributed
("PLAYER_ATTRIBUTED")
Academy and showcase teams needing full player-to-player passing chemistry. 2 to 3 delegated helpers using assigned sideline roles. Draw pass arrows plus quick taps to confirm passer and recipient. Unlocks individual pass networks, combination play chains, and progressive run charts.

2. Delegating Sideline Roles (No Duplicate Logging)

Expecting one volunteer to track the clock, record substitutions, log fouls, and draw pass arrows at full game speed leads to mistakes. 11Kits allows head coaches to split duties across multiple phones using granular staff permissions:

Matchday Role Permissions Granted Best Assigned To What They Control on Field
1. Match Operations isTimekeeper
canRecordSubs
Team Manager, Parent/Guardian Helper, or Coach Master match clock, added stoppage time, halftime transitions, and individual player minutes played. No arrow drawing required.
2. Ball Progression & Build-Up canRecordVectors
canRecordSetPieces
Assistant Coach or Dedicated Stat Tracker Pass and carry arrows, recipient tags, possession sequences, combination chains, and set-piece restarts (Corners, Throw-ins, Goal Kicks, Offsides).
3. Finishing & Key Events canRecordShots
(Goals, Saves, Woodwork, PKs)
Parent/Guardian Volunteer or Assistant Attacking actions in the box, goal-mouth shot placement (target height and width), goalkeeper saves, blocks, and direct free kicks on goal.
4. Disruptions & Discipline canRecordDefensive
canRecordFouls
Parent/Guardian Volunteer or Assistant Tackles (won/lost), interceptions, clearances, fouls committed or drawn, and yellow/red cards.
Parent-Friendly Design: Helpers do not need a paid account or tactical training. You can send them a match invite link directly from your pre-game screen, and their device will open strictly to their assigned duties.

3. How Tracking Detail Affects Reports & Season Stats

A common question coaches ask is: "What happens to our season stats if we track passes in tournament games, but only use Tap-Only mode during friendly scrimmages?"
